Was es nur einmal gibt ist "kultwürdig".
What only exists once is "cult-worthy".
Peter Sloterdijk
On the occasion of her exhibition at Les Brasseurs, Andrea Radermacher-Mennicken further explores the communication strategies in our relationships with others.
The transition from a society born of the industrial revolution to a post-modern society fueled by digital revolutions has resulted in a profound shift in human behavior. As we have evolved into a hyper-connected society, the individual has replaced the mass. With the rise of social networks, it is essential that the individual creates a "unique" identity. Paradoxically, the singular only exists in the multitude: this identity construction requires a fierce competitiveness to stand out from the Other, the self-image becoming an absolute economic product.
Andrea Radermacher-Mennicken explores these contradictions by investing the exhibition space as a place of worship celebrating the different facets of contemporary existence. The side aisles of Les Brasseurs adorned with a series of altars become places of pilgrimage to the glory of the skills required to become "the best version of oneself".
